Composition

With PL sheet goods there is a substrate (core), a laminated face/back, and edging.

(todo: needs pictures for each)

We'll use Particle Board as a substrate, unless it gets painted.
For paint grade use MDF.

Wood veneer panels always use MDF as a substrate.

3/4" panels use 11/16" PB as the core.
1/4" panels use 1/4" MDF as the core for strength.

Concerns

When ordering laid up panels, it is important to consider your backer.

With Wilsonart, you can just ask for "White" backer to match our Melamine.

With Formica, you need to specify:

White: Dover White 7197-58

The laminate on front/back must be identical thickness (balanced).

Panels must be balanced or they will warp.
